Deck the Hall Light Show at City Hall
Debuting on November 20, the brand-new Deck the Hall Light Show presented by Independence Blue Cross will illuminate the exterior of City Hall on its west side.
The animated show is choreographed in tune with holiday music, creating a festive experience for all.
The daily show will take place multiple times each night and will be visible from all parts of Dilworth Park and along West Market Street.
Designed by local digital design firm KLIP Collective (the group behind Longwood Gardens’ Nightscape installation), the display will unfold through New Year’s Day.
Rothman Institute Ice Rink and Cabin
Welcoming more than 60,000 skaters last season, the Rothman Institute Ice Rink returns November 10 for a fourth year of seasonal skating right in the heart of the city.
The rink is open to those of all ages and offers beautiful skyline views with City Hall as its backdrop. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 10 and under. Those who do not have their own ice skates can rent a pair for $10.
For those looking to relax before or after a skate, the Rothman Cabin also opens on November 10, inviting folks to snuggle up inside with hearty eats like poutine and chili and toasty drinks like hot chocolate.
Located at the tip of the ice rink, the heated tent will also serve a variety of alcoholic options for the 21-and-over crew, including warm, seasonal cocktails and beer from Victory Brewing Company.
America’s Garden Capital Maze
The fun America’s Garden Capital Maze returns for a second year beginning on November 10.
The holiday-inspired garden is filled with festive, photogenic elements like twinkling lights, seasonal plants and decorated archways. Created in partnership with Greater Philadelphia Gardens, the attraction is designed to showcase more than 30 public gardens, arboreta and historic landscapes located within 30 miles of Philadelphia, all of which give Philadelphia the distinction of America’s Garden Capital.
In tandem with the pop-up garden-meets-maze, 10 weeks of free garden-themed workshops curated by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society will be hosted in the Rothman Cabin. To check out the schedule and to register for the workshops, click here.
Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market
Also destined for Dilworth Park, the all-local Made In Philadelphia Holiday Market starts November 18 and runs through January 1.
More than 40 artisans, designers, crafters and confectionaries from around the area come together to sell special holiday foods and gift-able goods in white, festively lit tents topped with original Herrnhut Stars.
Both the Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market and Christmas Village at the newly renovated LOVE Park create a one-stop-shop for checking off all the loved ones on residents’ and visitors’ holiday shopping lists.
Throughout the season, Wintergarden will host a variety of special events and programming, so check the official schedule to stay-up-to-date on all the happenings.
We’ll see you out there, coats zipped and ready to skate, cheers and celebrate!
