Weekend Picks: Science Carnival On The Parkway, Penn Relays, Flavors On The Avenue, Parks On Tap And More

Spring weekends in Philadelphia don't get much bigger than this...

A weekend jam-packed with events can mean only one thing: Spring festival season is officially here in Philly!

The Philadelphia Science Festival ends this weekend in a big way with the Science Carnival, an explosive (and free!) daylong outdoor party on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway featuring engaging activities, jaw-dropping visuals and unbelievable experiments.

The Penn Relays & Penn Relays Carnival returns to Franklin Field to showcase some of the brightest — and fastest! — talents in track and field.

Delicious food is the center of attention during Flavors on the Avenue, an annual food festival featuring bites from renowned East Passyunk restaurants like Bing Bing Dim Sum and Brigantessa.

And after a one-year hiatus, El Carnaval de Puebla returns to South Philly for a spirited celebration of Mexican culture.

Also on tap: Philadelphia Black Pride is back for its 19th year, Parks on Tap kicks off outdoor-drinking season at the Azalea Garden and the Center City Jazz Festival grooves at six Philly venues.
