Weekend Picks: South Street Spring Festival, Broad Street Run, Chinese Lantern Festival And More

From sunny spring festivals to bright lantern lights, it's another great weekend in Philly...

The first full weekend in May brings plenty of reasons to be outside in Philadelphia.

One of the season’s biggest events, the South Street Spring Festival & Brauhaus Schmitz Maifest sees 10 blocks of South Street shut down for a day-long celebration that includes live music, street performers, food specials and games.

The lights are bright this weekend in Franklin Square for the first full weekend of the Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival. Ticket-holders can bask in the glow of hand-made lantern replicas of pandas, dragons, sharks and more.

The annual Broad Street Run is back again, where runners of all levels make the 10-mile trek down Broad Street while spectators cheer them on.

Finally, First Sundays are for the arts in Philly! This Sunday, take advantage of free admission to the Barnes Foundation and pay-what-you-wish admission to the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
