June brings lots of big names to the City of Brotherly Love…

Summertime in Philadelphia typically means street fairs, alfresco dining and, of course, a jam-packed concert lineup — and this season is no exception.

There’s a number of recognizable names hitting Philly-area venues this month, from Kendrick Lamar to Dave Matthews Band. Some of the city’s smaller venues get love, too, from the likes of Travi$ Scott and experimental gospel soul singer serpentwithfeet.

This summer, visitors to Philadelphia’s Historic District can enjoy more than 50 live musical performances as part of Summer Sounds in the Historic District, a series of long-popular concerts and new programming curated by VISIT PHILADELPHIA. From June 1 through September 7, jazz, DJ tunes, Latin grooves and even the sweet sounds of symphony will fill the parks, patios and plazas at more than a dozen locations. The festivities kick off with a DJ night at Spruce Street Harbor Park with Matthew Law and Rich Medina on June 1 and a jazz tribute to Miles Davis and Aretha Franklin at the African American Museum in Philadelphia on June 6.
