It’s an exciting time to dine out in Old City. The neighborhood best known for its unparalleled historic sites also brims with some of the most-buzzed-about new and established restaurants in town, and Old City Eats gives you a chance to sample many of them at a fraction of the usual cost.
The summer-long happy hour series returns for its third year — with a whopping 30-plus participating restaurants! — rolling out half-priced small plates and drink specials every Thursday from June 21 to August 30 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Here’s the deal: Participating venues, such as High Street on Market, Khyber Pass Pub and new eateries Tuna Bar and Royal Boucherie, serve discounted beer and one $5 specialty cocktail along with deals on an appetizer.
Meal deal options include a hearty spread of buffalo wings and fries at Bleu Martini, chips and a melange of dips at Cuba Libre and teriyaki-glazed short ribs with slaw at Keating’s Rope & Anchor Bar + Kitchen
Old City Eats officially kicks off with a neighborhood block party on Thursday, June 21, from 5 to 9 p.m. at 2nd and Market streets.
As an added perk, the event also offers up the chance to try Taps Fill Station, a beer-centric bar opening soon in new food hall the Bourse.
If you’d rather celebrate indoors, all Old City Eats participants will also be serving happy hour deals during the festival at their respective locations.
Old City Eats presents an ideal opportunity for hungry tourists ending a busy day of sightseeing in Philadelphia’s Historic District, or those looking to grab a bite before catching a flick at one of the nearby Ritz movie theaters.
