Weekend Picks: The Rail Park, Black Restaurant Week, Juneteenth Fest, Clark Park Music & Arts Fest And More

Get out and about and check out one of more than 75 events going on this weekend...

It’s a busy weekend in the City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection.

The big news: It’s the first weekend to enjoy Phase I of the city’s exciting new Rail Park in Callowhill and Chinatown North. Explore the quarter-mile stretch of new urban greenspace, complete with trees, plants and places to relax and take in the views.

Saturday’s Philadelphia Juneteenth Festival celebrates the ratification of the 13th Amendment — which ensured the freedom of all Americans — with live entertainment, games, historic reenactments, tours and more in Germantown.

University City is the site of the popular, annual Clark Park Music and Arts Festival on Saturday, featuring live music, a pop-up art gallery showcasing work by local artists and over 50 craft vendors and food trucks.

The annual art show Art for the Cash Poor brings artwork at extremely affordable prices to a new location in Callowhill this year.

And it’s the final weekend for the first-ever Philadelphia Black Restaurant Week, featuring meal deals at 10 black-owned eateries in the city.
