Weekend Picks: Last Chance For Chinese Lantern Festival, First Friday Events, Hispanic Fiesta And More

There's plenty of fun to be this weekend at more than 75 events throughout the region...

The Fourth of July may be over but there’s still plenty of great things to do this weekend in Philly.

The dazzling Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival ends its extended run this weekend. Be sure to check out the 200-foot-long dragon and 28 all-new glowing lanterns in Franklin Square before the super-popular event wraps up on Sunday.

From Old City to Fishtown to Fairmount, First Friday events at participating galleries, studios, shops, museums, bars and restaurants draw crowds eager to explore Philadelphia’s thriving arts scene.

On the festival front, the two-day Hispanic Fiesta lands at the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing while the annual Blueberry Festival returns to Linvilla Orchards in Media.

Also on tap this weekend: the inclusivity-promoting music event First Time’s The Charm at PhilaMOCA, a Philadelphia Union game at Talen Energy Stadium (with fireworks following the match!) and the lively Cuban music and food series Havana Nights at World Cafe Live.
