Weekend Picks: Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest, Parks On Tap, Outdoor Movies And More

Take it outside to enjoy your late-summer weekend in the City of Brotherly Love...

With September quickly approaching, it’s time to enjoy this late-summer weekend in Philly to the fullest.

Outdoor movie screenings pop up all over the city at spaces including Franklin Square and Dilworth Park. Movie lovers should grab a blanket, snacks and settle in under the night skies to watch movies like Coco and Black Panther.

Over on the Delaware River waterfront, Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest and Spruce Street Harbor Park continue to rock this weekend — try skating at Philly’s only outdoor roller rink or hanging out in hammocks under colorful lights.

Those looking for a beer alfresco can seek out Parks on Tap in Fishtown’s Penn Treaty Park.

Beyond these ongoing events in the city, spirited events this weekend include Fonthill Castle Beer Fest in Doylestown, Clues and Booze and Chews at Cliveden in Germantown, Citadel Country Spirit USA in Glenmoore and more.

In this edition of Weekend Picks, we’re including happenings on Monday, August 27 because August is a wonderful time to enjoy a long summer weekend in Philly, especially with the Visit Philly Overnight Hotel Package. The package includes more than $250 in free perks, including free hotel parking and free tickets and experiences from the Museum of the American Revolution, Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest, CHeU Noodle restaurants, Franklin Square, PHLASH and Lyft.
