Weekend Picks: Last Chance At The Oval+, Festival Of India, Caribbean Festival, Parks On Tap And More

Make it a great weekend at one of these 70 fun things to do in the City of Brotherly Love...

Philadelphia, we made it to the weekend — and there’s no shortage of ways to celebrate over the next couple days.

The month-long stay of The Oval+ on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway ends this weekend, so don’t miss one last chance for a stroll through the misting pavilion, a drink in the shaded beer garden, a walk down the pedestrian promenade on the Parkway and more.

Penn’s Landing gets super-activated this weekend thanks to two massive multicultural celebrations: the Festival of India on Saturday and the Caribbean Festival on Sunday.

And fans of food and drink (read: everyone) have lots of tasty options this weekend, including restaurant weeks (Chestnut Hill Restaurant Week, Night Out Restaurant Week), beer gardens (Parks on Tap with sick views at Lemon Hill, Rodin Museum Garden Bar) and more.

In this edition of Weekend Picks, we’re including happenings on Monday, August 20 because August is a wonderful time to enjoy a long summer weekend in Philly, especially with the Visit Philly Overnight Hotel Package. The package includes more than $250 in free perks, including free hotel parking and free tickets and experiences from the Museum of the American Revolution, Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest, CHeU Noodle restaurants, Franklin Square, PHLASH and Lyft.

Follow Uwishunu on Twitter and Instagram for updates throughout the weekend.
