Weekend Picks: Halloween Events & Festivities, Parkway Soiree, Head Of The Schuylkill Regatta And More

Our guide to 130 things to do (!) in Philly this weekend...

Happy Halloween weekend, Philly! With just a few days to go until the big night, there are enough festivals, frights and parties to keep the celebration going all weekend long.

Scary attractions like Terror Behind the Walls at Eastern State Penitentiary feel extra creepy when the Halloween chill is in the air, and dozens of Halloween parties and festivities at venues like The Franklin Institute, The Trestle Inn, XFINITY Live! and more pop up at venues citywide.

In cultural celebrations, the Penn Museum’s Día de los Muertos event on Saturday celebrates the Mexican tradition of honoring lost loved ones with live music, activities and a traditional ofrenda.

The weekend also offers two chances to enjoy seasonal snacks and festivities at South Street Pumpkin Fest on Saturday and East Passyunk Fall Fest & Spooky Sunday. The street fairs are full of all-ages activities, live music and tasty bites.

This final weekend of October is the last chance to celebrate the centennial of the Ben Franklin Parkway with the Parkway Soiree closing event — a block party-style fete complete with a vintage picnic in Sister Cities Park, Night Market vendors, a beer garden at the Rodin Museum, after-hours access to Parkway museums and much more.

And Festival for the People wraps up its waterfront interactive installation with music from Naeem, Oluwafemi and more at Race Street Pier and Cherry Street Pier on Saturday and Sunday.
